More From "The Call"

I was looking back over my notes, underlines, and highlights from Os Guinness' book "The Call."

In a chapter titled 'Let God Be God' Guinness concludes...

Faith in Christ will regain its decisive authority in the modern world only when we who follow Christ fear God more than we fear the powers and favors of modernity--when we hear God's call and are so captured by his summons that we say with Luther, as the earliest printed reports add, "Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise."

Good thoughts.

I was listening to Alan Hirsch last week and apparently he was invited to Germany, to the town where Luther was from, to meet with other Christian leaders/thinkers last year. They gathered these respected leaders, met in in church Luther nailed his thesis to and all had an opportunity to present what they believe the church needed for another reformation.

Alan said he suggest that we don't need a reformation, but rather a refounding ourselves back with the original founder of our faith. Interesting thought.
